I have longed for years to hear those words. My life is finally my own, I am free of the burden of being born a Murdoch.

My last name cost me my heart while I was in college, I fell in love and gave him my all only to be betrayed. He wasnt my RA, he was an undercover guard my father hired to keep watch over me. The man I loved was sent away without a word, all I know for sure is that he is still alive but never allowed near me or my family again or he will be put in a hole next to his parents.

I closed myself off from the prospect of love, hardened my heart to all but when a man ten years younger than me barges into my life and turns it on its ass I am forced out of hiding. My heart beats again, my body thrums with need at the sight of him.

Darkness clings to him like a shadow. He is battered and broken, scarred from his past just like me. Our demons feast on each other but given who he is we can never be together, Im a doctor. I save lives, he takes them.

When caution is thrown to the wind and we give into everything we feel and allow the madness to consume us, sparks fly but happiness never lasts especially when my first love comes back to claim me as his.
